Learning environments at DTU

A modern learning environments are essential for attracting talented and dedicated students to DTU. This requires a high standard of physical facilities and technical equipment that supports a variety of teaching and work methods. At the same time, DTU creates space for students to engage in academic and social communities on DTU's campuses. Building 208 on the Lyngby Campus is the latest example of DTU’s efforts to develop the learning environments of the future and aligns with the goal of being a world-class elite university.

Life at All Hours

Building 208 has been completely renovated. In the transformation of the building, we have integrated technical equipment, especially lighting, so it seamlessly blends with the architecture of the Koppel couple. Today, instructors can employ a wide range of teaching methods in the teaching building, Building 208. Between classes, students can use the building for group work and social activities – during the day and in the evening.

Student Life with Cultural Heritage as a Backdrop

Cultural activities are fundamental when DTU develops the framework for a vibrant student environment.

In Building 208, students can meet each other, immerse themselves in their studies, or relax in Etheren. The volunteer bartenders at the Friday bar foster a safe and inclusive culture. An artistic color scheme and the dissemination of technical science history create a welcoming atmosphere and connect the past with current studies in chemistry and life sciences.

The transformation of B208 respects the Koppel couple’s architecture, preserving the building's overall aesthetic while reducing its carbon footprint. The focus is on creating a healthy indoor climate and preserving the building's materials and furnishings as much as possible.
