Why the Strategic Campus Plan?
DTU Ballerup Campus is DTU’s main campus for engineering degree programmes and is located in the Lautrup business district, one of Denmark’s leading commercial hubs. Through the Strategic Campus Plan for Ballerup Campus, DTU aims to develop the physical environment to support an attractive study and learning environment, with a particular focus on a practice-oriented and innovative approach to engineering education. This includes creating spaces that encourage people to spend more time on campus and that inspire interaction, collaboration and the exchange of knowledge.
The development of Ballerup Campus is also intended to strengthen valuable partnerships with the many Danish and international companies in IT, manufacturing, consultancy and technology located in the Lautrup business district.
Strategic and Physical Themes
The Strategic Campus Plan for DTU Ballerup Campus is based on DTU’s strategy and an overarching vision for DTU’s campuses, aimed at maintaining and enhancing a campus of the highest quality in every respect.
The plan is structured around four strategic themes: value creation, an excellent university environment, identity and campus environment, and three physical themes: landscape, architecture and mobility.
